Hygienic surface

As moisture levels in the gypsum core increase, gypsum becomes increasingly alkaline; this helps to counter mould and fungal growth which is typical in prolonged high humidity conditions. Where conditions are comfortable for human habitation, mould and fungal growth are generally not a problem.

Knauf Danoline surface finishes are non-hazardous containing no active biocides, however due to their smooth nature the painted and foil surfaces do not provide a good surface for the growth of micro-organisms.

Foil and high gloss finishes are particularly suitable in situations where micro-organisms are known to be present, due to both the hard, smooth surface and the fact that they are exceptionally easy to clean.

Where infection control is critical, the white foil finish can tolerate cleaning and disinfection agents with pH levels from as low as 2 up to 13.
