| The composition of gypsum boards is based on gypsum crystals, the hardness of which is similar to the one of slate. During the casting of the board, the gypsum paste is enclosed between two layers of cardboard. The hardness of the gypsum core and the flexibility of the cardboard create a laminate that has an excellent strength and pressure resistance. The strength is, though, additionally influenced by the type of surface finishing, i.e. untreated, painted, foil-covered. Perforated gypsum boards can withstand general handling required during mounting and dismounting. Furthermore, perforated gypsum boards can be integrated in walls or primary constructions. |
